A road that is not allowed to cross only at certain times

If you are planning a trip to France, be careful of the roads you drive – some of them may disappear under your feet …

Passeig du Goa, which connects Burnef Bay and Nuarmutje Island, is unique but also dangerous.

Twice a day, at high tide, this 4-kilometer road disappears under 4 meters of water. That’s why it’s safe to use only a few hours a day, and there are warnings on every side when you shouldn’t be driving.

Occasionally, people cross at an unauthorized time, so the tide hits them, but fortunately, the rescue towers are set up on the road, on which people climb up and wait to be saved.

This interesting road was the training ground for the Tour de France cycling race in 1999, but due to the slippery surface, some of the competitors fell. Despite this, the track was used as the start of the first part of the bike race in 2001.
