The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has condemned the Red Star for the incident after the match with Midtjylland, when fans threw hard objects at the referees, and beat, among others, the assistant Dejan Stankovic – Federico Panoncini.
Dissatisfied with the process, Red Star fans wanted to resolve the issues with the Hungarian referees after the match with Midtjylland, which belongs to the Danish representative. Instead, the victim was Federico Panoncini, who suffered a head injury and was soon transferred to hospital.
The match delegate noted some details and UEFA decided to penalize the Red Star with a game without the presence of fans at the “Rajko Mitic” stadium, as well as a fine of 45,000 euros. However, what is important to note is that children under the age of 14 will be allowed to enter against Midtjylland.
When all is added and subtracted, the Red Star has done well with this penalty, as they have also had warnings from the European Football House in the past.
